This Fall’s Must-Have Trends at The Gardens Mall
September 1, 2017
Sure, the cold never really comes to Florida, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the cutest new-season fashion. Here’s The Gardens Mall’s guide to fall’s hottest fashion trends — all of it 100% Florida appropriate.
Space Out in Futuristic Fashion
The fall catwalks were awash in silver. At Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and elsewhere, the metallics were, of course, glamorously glitzy, but also futuristic, hinting of space travel and galaxies far, far away. Our favorite looks of the season: Chanel’s structural knit dress with silver details; Maje’s sequin skirt, at this season’s midi length, from Bloomingdale’s; Aldo’s fabulous block-heel, silver, embellished shoes.
Animal print is back, and it still counts as a neutral. For extra fashion points, mix patterns: slip a Breton-striped tee under Louis Vuitton’s leopard jacquard jacket; amp up Michael Kors’ leopard-print calf-hair miniskirt with a flamboyant floral shirt; or sharpen a Salvatore Ferragamo shell top with some pinstripes.
Yee-haw. Americana will be big news this fall, so channel your inner cowgirl with Jimmy Choo’s studded over-the-knee boots in mink suede, Tory Burch’s Sawyer studded satchel bag, and a sweet-as-cherry pie embroidered denim dress from Madewell.
Velvet in jewel tones
Plush velvet will make its way into fashion lovers’ wardrobes this fall in rich jewel tones. We love Stella McCartney’s ruched minidress, available for pre-order from Saks Fifth Avenue; Jimmy Choo’s Lockett bag in bottle-green velvet; and, for a look that hits two of the season’s trends, Miss L Fire floral velvet ankle boots, from Anthropologie.
Fashion’s maximalist moment has seen flowers everywhere the past few seasons, and fall 2017 will be no exception. Celebrate autumn with warm, dusky flowers: Coach’s Rogue purse in glove tanned leather with pink and sunset-toned tea roses; Anthropologie’s statement floral jumpsuit; and for everyday, casual chic, JOHNNY WAS’s cotton floral sweater.
