Palm Beach Gardens, FL – June 19, 2017 – On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. David Cowan, Founder and CEO of Ali’s Alliance Cancer Resources and Support Directory will set out from The Gardens Mall on a motorcycle tour to the four corners of the United States to raise awareness of this national searchable online cancer resource and register even more providers and users. An avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast, David will travel from Palm Beach Gardens to Key West, then north through Tampa and into the panhandle. He will pass through the southern states to reach San Diego, then turn north and head to Port Angeles or Cape Flattery, WA. From there he will travel across the northern tier of the United States and end up in Caribou or Madawaska, ME. The final leg of the trip will take David down the east coast back to his home in Jupiter Farms.  Along the route David will be planting stakes with red knots attached to them at significant locations to represent the expansion of Ali's Alliance Cancer Resource and Support Directory across the United States. A red knot is the symbol used in the Ali's Alliance logo.

David Cowan founded Ali’s Alliance in 2011 after his wife Alison passed away from Mucosal Melanoma. When she was originally diagnosed with this horrific disease they didn’t know where to turn for treatment and help. An internet search for the word “cancer” turned up 48 million websites to navigate through and a search for “cancer treatment” turned up 20 million. David ultimately decided to honor Alison’s memory by establishing a free, national, geographically organized directory where families facing a cancer diagnosis and their caregivers can go to easily find support. Ali’s Alliance works to mitigate the confusion and anxiety that accompanies managing and battling cancer.

Supporters may make donations to support this event at Ali’s Alliance website, www.alisalliance.org, where they will also be able to see the progress of the trip. A GoPro camera will be mounted to David’s bike to document his trip and he will be periodically posting interesting footage. Supporters may also check David’s progress at the Ali’s Alliance Facebook Page #alisride.

“We currently have just over 16,000 service providers listed in the directory and the website gets 2,200 to 4,000 unique visitors per month. The directory is searched for providers nearly 850 times per month with 29% of those from the State of Florida.” said David Cowan, Founder of Ali’s Alliance Cancer Resource and Support Directory. “This Ride to the Four Corners will bring more nationwide awareness to this critical directory, generating many more providers and users.  Our ultimate goal is to exponentially increase the number of families and caregivers we are serving across the United States. “

About Ali’s Alliance
Ali’s Alliance is a non-profit organization that provides a free, web-based information portal offering information about resources and support to the cancer community of survivors, patients and caregivers. When founder David Cowan’s wife Alison was diagnosed in 2010 with a rare and aggressive cancer, they were lost and without guidance looking for therapies and assistance. Ali’s Alliance works to mitigate the confusion and anxiety that accompanies managing and battling cancer.  The website provides free access to a directory of resources and support that is organized geographically to assist in locating support as close to home as possible.   Additionally, Ali’s Alliance provides an opportunity for all individuals and businesses that provide support, treatment, therapies or any cancer related resource to list what they do and in doing so make easier for those that need them to find them. Basic listings are always free of charge.
